Back to Nature, Inc. has used and sold Erosion Control Compost for servicing TxDOT jobs around the state for a number of years. The benefits of using this composted cotton burr x mulch mixture is well known in establishing a water permeable barrier blanket of material that not only prevents erosion, but facilitates the new growth of vegetation for permanent runoff protection. With the addition of our FINN 705 Compost and Mulch Blower, we can now offer a variety of services and products to cover most erosion control needs. Our erosion control services such as installing compost blankets, slope stabilization, and filter tubes (erosion control logs) are not only convenient and effective for TxDOT jobs, but around build sites, landscape and home construction, and anywhere that the natural landscape has been disturbed. These methods of erosion control are approved by the Texas Commision on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Our Services Include:
Filter Tubes Filter Tubes, or Erosion Control Logs, are a poly or biodegradable porous tube that is blown full of mulch. The tubes are a more effective alternative to silt fence as they will allow water to pass through them while leaving silt and sediment behind. They are easy to install, move and remove, and conform to even the roughest of terrains. Filter Tubes are great for use around build sites and lanscape construction for inlet, leading edge, and stormwater protection.

Compost Blankets Our Erosion Control Compost/Mulch mixture is applied as a compost blanket across any terrain. These compost blankets allow for excellent erosion control on steep embankments and flat ground alike in slope stabilization, soil reclaimation, and ground cover projects. The erosion control compost can also be infused with grass and plant seed to promote vegetative growth even in the roughest of landscapes.

Filter Berms Filter Berms are another method of erosion control where a compost/mulch mixture is blown in the form of a 1' x 2' berm to slow the flow of runoff and filter out sediment from passing water. Seed can also be included in the berm to allow for vegetative grown and provide a permanent fixture that blends in with the surrounding landscape. This method of erosion control also works as an easy alternative to silt fence, though not as sturdy as the use of filter tubes.

Silt Fence We also install and remove silt fence from projects. Silt fence will mainly be used in conjunction with filter tubes (erosion control logs).
